I loved this book. This is my second novel by this author, I've also read "The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes", which I really liked. On the cover of this book, there is a quote referring to Diane Chamberlain as the "Southern Jodi Picoult". I think their books are comparable. This one also reminded me of "Drowning Ruth" with the way it was written using different characters and time periods.
