I think garlic is an ingredient that you should always have on hand. I used to just use garlic powder in recipes, but a few years ago I started buying this pre-chopped garlic at the store and now I use it all the time! You can find it in the produce department at most grocery stores. Once you open it, just keep it in the fridge and it stays good for a few months. It is so much easier than keeping garlic bulbs on hand...and, you don't have to do any peeling or chopping either!

I had one of these jars and I didn't use it much and it expired. What do you use your garlic for? Veggies and italian dishes?
Natalie, You can use it in marinades or rub a little on your beef or pork roasts. I always add garlic when I'm browning ground meat for just about anything, even Mexican dishes, just because we love the taste. That's just when I'm cooking without recipes.
Like you said, if you like Italian food, you'll definitely use it a lot. If you want to give fresh veggies a little flavor, just blanch them and then saute in a little butter or olive oil with a bit of garlic and salt. A little garlic goes a long way--but lasts on your breath 'til the next day!
That's exactly all the same stuff I use it for! With the vegtables, I just steam them to the crispness we like them, then saute them in butter (or spray butter if I want to cook healthy), add salt/pepper, and probably 1/8-1/4 tsp garlic. We have frozen green beans from Costco like this at least a couple of times a week.
